Technology is evolving every day. The newest version of the Ipad will be outdone by the newer Ipad six months from now. Something else will be created soon after and make the latest advancement seem obsolete. With this in mind, it only makes sense that teachers should be evolving as well. A teacher that uses only a textbook and blackboard for teaching is handicapping their self. While they may still be successful with their students, the refusal of a teacher to adapt their teaching style could hurt them from reaching every single student effectively.
As a math teacher, there are many different ways that I inject technology into the classroom for my students. From the very first day, I show students that technology is an integral part of the process of instruction and learning by doing a PowerPoint presentation. In this presentation, I introduce myself using old pictures, show them where I went to school, how I spend my free time, and finally go over the classroom rules and procedures. This way of introducing the students to my classroom tends to make them feel more welcome and engaged versus handing out a couple pages of paper and expecting them to read along with me as I go over the do’s and don’ts of my class.

Above is a short video on why we should use more technology in education.
Below is an example of what I use on the first day of school to introduce my class.
